Business Analyst
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in private credit, debt markets, or alternative investments. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of private debt underwriting, portfolio monitoring, and investor reporting, with the ability to interpret corporate disclosures, credit agreements, covenants, and related financial documents.
This role requires strong techno-functional skills to translate complex credit workflows into scalable technological solutions. The candidate will work closely with investment, operations, and technology teams to build and enhance platforms that support the private credit lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Private Credit Expertise:
- Analyze and interpret borrower financials, private placement memoranda (PPMs), credit agreements, and deal structures.
- Understand and track covenants, interest schedules, amortization, prepayment terms, and other credit metrics.
- Stay updated with developments in private debt markets, regulatory changes, and investor reporting standards.
Requirements Gathering
- Partner with investment teams, portfolio managers, legal and operations to gather business requirements around private credit workflows.
- Translate front-office and middle-office needs into structured documentation for product and tech teams.
Documentation & Business Analysis
- Develop detailed business and functional requirement documents for new features, process changes, and system integrations.
- Prepare user stories, process maps, wireframes, and data flow diagrams.
- Document key processes like deal origination, underwriting, disbursement, monitoring, reporting, and valuation.
Techno-Functional Interface
- Act as the bridge between investment professionals and developers.
- Translate domain requirements into technology roadmaps and user-centric solutions.
- Work with product managers to prioritize features that enhance deal tracking, data integrity, and portfolio analytics.
Data & Credit Analytics
- Collaborate with data teams to ensure accurate ingestion and interpretation of borrower financials, valuations, IRR, cash flows, and investor capital accounts.
- Perform analytical reviews to identify risk flags, anomalies, or operational inefficiencies.
Project Management
- Support project execution by coordinating with engineering, QA, and stakeholder teams.
- Track timelines, testing, and deployment across sprints or delivery milestones.
- Ensure solutions meet regulatory and investor expectations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Technology, Accounting, or related field.
- 4–10 years of experience in private credit, structured finance, or alternative investments, preferably in a business analyst or functional role.
- Strong knowledge of financial statements, credit underwriting, and debt instruments.
- Experience working with or building platforms for deal pipelines, portfolio monitoring, or investor reporting.
- Excellent documentation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills with knowledge of Excel, SQL, or BI tools.
- Familiarity with credit data providers, loan management systems, or private market technology platforms.
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience in private credit funds, investment firms, or credit technology platforms.
- Understanding of LP reporting, fund structures, waterfall calculations, and cash flow modeling.
- Experience in workflow tools (Jira, Confluence), BPMN, or Agile delivery.
